Pezzottaite, a raspberry pink-red cesium-rich beryl, is a species distinct from morganite discovered in 2002 in Madagascar (Sakavalana mine). Its more intense pink-red than morganite and extreme rarity make it one of the most sought collector gems. Named after Italian mineralogist Federico Pezzotta.
