Kornerupine, named after Danish geologist Andreas Nikolaus Kornerup, is an extremely rare magnesium boron silicate. It comes in green, golden brown and blue (most precious) and often shows strong dichroism. Found mainly in Madagascar, Sri Lanka and Burma.
