Copal (FR) · Copal (ES)
Copal is often sold as amber but is clearly distinct: it is a recent, non-fossilized resin (less than 1000 years, sometimes just centuries old). In lithotherapy literature, it is treated as a stone in its own right. Sacred in Mesoamerica, burned as offerings to gods in Mayan and Aztec temples. Lighter and more accessible energy than true amber.
Sacred purification by smoke — ceremonial incense
Sacred stone of Mayas, Aztecs and shamans
Luminous, positive and purifying energy
Young amber — recent resin less than 1000 years old
Burned as incense: purifies spaces and chases negative energies. As stone: helps with anxiety and stress. Stimulates mental clarity. Promotes meditation and connection to nature spirits.
Burn as incense to purify a space before ceremony. Wear as jewelry for light, purifying energy. Ideal introduction to amber for beginners. Authenticate: real copal softens slightly with warmth.
Sage fumigation only (copal is itself traditionally burned as a purifying resin — do not fumigate it with itself). Recharge in brief sunlight 30 min or quartz cluster 24h.
⚠️ Never water, solvents, heat — young resin still sensitive.
