Cassiterite, tin oxide, is the main tin ore — the metal that, alloyed with copper, gave birth to Bronze 5000 years ago. Found mainly in Cornwall (England, 'Cassiterides' of the Greeks), Bolivia and Southeast Asia. Its bipyramidal crystals have adamantine luster.
